Be a Part of Something Bigger

One of the reasons I love Advoco is because of how palpable our sense of charitable giving is. We have a great office culture, but that office culture extends past the four walls of our offices. Everyone here knows that we are part of a larger community, something bigger than ourselves. It’s because of this that we want to give back to the communities where we live and work.
Each of our employees has a charity or nonprofit organization they are passionate about and as our director of human resources, I get the opportunity to help them support those organizations. Through different giving initiatives and drives, we’re able to support charities across the country, and what’s more, our team gets to pick what organizations to give to.
In our different offices, people give their time and resources to a wide variety of charities. We’ve packed backpacks full of food for underprivileged children, we’ve volunteered at soup kitchens, and we even have a resident cat rescuer!
This summer we are donating over $10,000 to charities across the U.S. with a special focus in Berkeley, CA, Greenville, SC, and Syracuse, NY—the locations of our offices. Our efforts are facilitated by Advoco for Good, our charitable giving arm. Advoco for Good oversees employee fitness challenges, where money is raised by the amount of points from exercise and healthy lifestyle choices. From this most recent challenge, the charities receiving contributions are:
First Book, Washington, DC
Habitat for Humanity, Greenville, SC
Hospice of CNY, Syracuse, NY
Loaves and Fishes, Greenville, SC
Mentor Me, Petaluma, CA
Pennies4Preemies, Greenville, SC
St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Memphis, TN
Women’s Daytime Drop-In Center, Berkeley, CA
Wounded Warrior Project, Topeka, Kansas
I’m proud to be a part of something bigger—more than just a profit hungry enterprise, but a company that truly cares for its community. You have the power to make an impact on your corner of the world, are you using that power?
Until next time...we are Advoco, make every minute count.

About Dale: As our Executive Director of Human Resources, Dale is the powerhouse behind helping our team grow. He graduated from USC-Upstate (but considers himself a Dayton Flyer.) He has over twelve years of HR experience in a variety of industries, focused primarily on talent acquisition and organizational development. Dale is passionate about challenging himself, and when he’s not in the office, he’s training for his next big race. Each year he picks a different race to compete in. In the past it has been mostly running events, but this year is all about biking, with a goal of completing a 3 day, 150 mile, 10,000 ft elevation race in October. Questions? Send Dale an email!
