Peace Love and Passion

Steve Jobs once said, "We believe that people with passion can change the world in some way."

I am amazed at the negativity, hatred, and anger there is in the world around us today. We are living in one of the most prosperous times of our lives, and we should be enjoying the fruits of these good times.

If you ask me, we’re lacking passion. The passion to do something great. The passion to do something special. The passion to be true to who you are and really put yourself out there.

As most of you know, I am extremely passionate about Clemson football and have been that way since I graduated from there back in the 80's. I greet every fall with more excitement and enthusiasm than a child at Christmas. I even like to say that the start of football season is the most wonderful time of the year. Clemson may not win all the time, but that doesn’t matter to me. What does matter is being positive, having fun cheering them on, and being dedicated to the team regardless of the outcome.

What makes you get up in the morning with a smile on your face? I think if more people focused on what they are passionate about and not the negativity that surrounds us, we would be a much more loving society.

The reason I bring up my love and pride for a football team is this: You are willing to take things to the next level for what you care about. And when you do that, you win, and so does everyone around you. With a mindset like this, we can change the world.
