It's a Wonderful Life

My brother in law’s all-time favorite movie is It’s a Wonderful Life. The movie is a holiday classic about a businessman who is overwhelmed by family obligations and a sense of responsibility toward his community. An honest mistake causes chaos and makes the main character, George Bailey, question his place in the world. He eventually realizes that even in tough times his community is grateful to be associated with him.

Has this ever happened to you? We all have times of doubt, but at the end of the day gratitude is incredibly important.

As we enter the holiday season, I am trying to practice more daily gratitude. I am reminded of all the great writers, speakers, and leaders that have shaped my life. I am so thankful for the words of wisdom, encouragement, and thoughtfulness that they have shared throughout the years.

We live in a unique (and wonderful!) time where the opportunity to learn from others is easier than ever. That is why I’m excited to pass on my thoughts to you with Marty’s Minute. I want to share the things I’ve learned from others in quick, easy to access posts. I am thankful for what I’ve learned, and to show my gratitude, I am passing along the learning to you.

I don’t believe I could have accomplished what I have over the years without the help and insight of great thought leaders. Like George Bailey, no matter what challenge I face, I will remember the words of wisdom passed down to me and how truly blessed we are with a wonderful life.
