Plan for the Unplanned

I've always been a planner, an organizer, a rule-follower. I like to have things in order, follow a schedule, and know what's coming next.
Unfortunately, the world we live in is constantly changing and evolving. Everything moves at a breakneck pace, and it's rare to find things that are unchanging.
Meetings fall through at the last minute, or get added at the last minute, weather throws your travel plans out of whack, and sometimes things just go wrong.
In these situations, it's important to remain calm and level-headed even when schedules get shaken up or things don't go according to plan. Because the fact of the matter is, things rarely happen according to your plan.
I've heard people say, "Make a plan, then throw that plan out the window." Basically, plans are always going to change, so the only thing you should be planning for is the unexpected. You should consider planning for ways your plan could change! Today’s world is all about learning to roll with the punches, adapting to change, and bouncing back from mishaps or irregularities.
There’s a saying, “Blessed are the flexible, because they never get bent out of shape.” As we go forward, let’s all be a little more flexible.
Until next time…we are Advoco, make every minute count.
