Focus On What You Can Control

I get a lot of my inspiration from social media – so I guess it isn’t such a bad thing all the time. I was scrolling through and I saw this quote from Jon Gordon:
Three things you control everyday are your attitude, your effort, and your actions. It doesn't matter what others are doing or who you think is being unfair. Every day you can focus on being positive, working hard, and making others around you better. If you do that, great things will happen.
This is so empowering.
Every day we can decide how our day will go. We may not be able to control what happens around us, but we can control our attitude and how we react to the situations we find ourselves in.
When there are bugs with a new rollout, or a meeting doesn’t go exactly as planned, or we get an email with information we weren’t expecting, how we react to those situations is in our control. We can react positively and take charge to fix the problem, or we can bemoan the situation and try to point fingers about whose fault it is.
Imagine the difference in your organization if instead of blame shifting and complaining, it was a culture of positive attitudes and support?
You have the opportunity to control your attitude, effort, and actions – so take control of what you can and great things will happen!
