Success is an Iceberg

What’s the first thing you think of when you hear the word, iceberg? Cold, penguins, maybe The Titanic?
These giant hunks of floating ice are beautiful, but if we learned anything from The Titanic it’s that they can be dangerous and cause devastating destruction.
I recently came across this image of an iceberg and knew I had to share it with my a-Minute family. This illustration links success to an iceberg.
The power of the iceberg doesn’t come from the piece floating above the water. The true power comes from what is hidden beneath the surface. It is just the tip of the iceberg that is visible to us from above, but there is so much more underneath.
What a great metaphor for success.
As bystanders, when we see others being successful, we are missing a big piece of the picture. What we often fail to see is the hard work, the setbacks, the sacrifices, and the disappointments that occurred on this path to success.
Success should always be celebrated, but we can’t forget what led up to that success! Like an iceberg, we have to remember what lies beneath the surface.
Until next time…we are Advoco, make every minute count.
