Be a CEO - Chief Energy Officer

I recently read The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. The book is all about positive energy. Gordon specifically talks about adding positive energy to everything you do in your life: your job, your social interactions, your family, etc. It’s a great book and I highly recommend it if you haven’t read it yet!

One of the big takeaways for me from the book is that while everyone may not be a CEO (Chief Executive Officer) everyone can be a CEO (Chief Energy Officer).

Every day we have the opportunity to be a Chief Energy Officer. But are we taking advantage of these moments? Every interaction, whether at work or in your personal life, is a chance to bring energy, a chance to be a CEO.

You instill faith, direction, and attract others when you bring energy to your goal or project. Think about great teammates you’ve worked with in the past. I’m sure they were enthusiastic and filled with energy. That type of energy is contagious, especially in work environments.

When a project or task gets difficult, you want a Chief Energy Officer on your team, and there’s no reason you can’t be that person. When a situation gets tough, be the person in the room who brings the energy and helps everyone face the challenge head on. Be the CEO!
