Fall Candles

I don’t know about you, but I love the fall; so, this time of year has me extra excited. I love the big fluffy blankets, cozy sweaters, and a nice warm fire. And I can’t forget about the candles. Nothing makes it feel more like Fall than lighting my favorite scented candle.
I recently saw a post about candles that made me think a little differently about my favorite Fell décor. The post said blowing out someone else’s candle won’t make yours shine any brighter.
When you blow out one candle, the others don’t all of a sudden get brighter. Just like putting someone down, being negative, or cynical of someone else’s ideas won’t make your ideas any better. When we metaphorically blow out someone else’s candle, it does nothing for our own candle. Negativity doesn’t do anything for anyone!
What’s great about candles is that a candle doesn’t change or lose anything by lighting another. One candle can light thousands of other candles without burning any less brightly. It doesn’t cost us anything to be kind, uplifting, or encouraging to another person. Being a positive force in someone’s life doesn’t mean there’s less positivity in your own life. In fact, it probably means there is even more positivity (and light!) in your life.
As you head into your day, let’s all choose to light candles and not blow them out.
