Keep Your Ship Afloat

Things in the world have been pretty crazy recently, to say the very least.
I don’t know about you, but it’s hard to feel like I’m in control when there are so many unknowns happening around me. I can’t begin to guess at what the next day, week, or month will hold. Have you been feeling like that?
When so much is out of our control, the only way we can stay sane is to focus on the things we can control. This reminds me of a saying about ships:
Ships don’t sink because of water around them. Ships sink because of the water that gets in them.
What a timely metaphor for our current situation. We can’t let what happens around us get inside and weigh us down.
Things may be crazy around us, but that is outside of our control. We can’t let the crazy in and let it bog us down, or sink us!
We have to focus on the good and the things we can control. Things like our emotions, our reactions, and how we treat others around us.
Things might feel different and a little crazy right now, but let’s not let that sink our ship. Let’s keep our ships afloat!
Until next time…we are Advoco, make every minute count
