Random Acts of Kindness

Have you ever been in line at Starbucks and you reach out to pay when the cashier says, “The person before you already paid for your order.” You think about how nice it was for a complete stranger to pay for your coffee, and then think about what you can do to spread kindness as well. A lot of times in this scenario, you pay for the person behind you and the random act of kindness continues on.
There may be times in your life when you can’t pay for someone else’s coffee or you can’t afford to continue the chain of random acts of kindness. But don’t worry! Everyone can spread kindness, and it doesn’t have to cost anything.
One of my favorite quotes is No act of kindness, no matter how small, is ever wasted. You never know what others are going through, and even the slightest bit of kindness can change their whole day. Whether it’s holding the door open for them, saying please and thank you, smiling at them, or complimenting them, all of these may seem small, but can have an enormous impact.
Acts of kindness can be small and free, or large and extravagant, but either way, they can positively impact others around you.
Why are we not always spreading kindness? It’s such a simple task that can completely change not only how others feel, but how you feel as well.
My challenge to you is to spread kindness, wherever and whenever possible! Take time to think about small changes you can make in your life that might ultimately have a large impact. There can never be too much kindness.
Until next time…we are Advoco, make every minute count.
