We Need More Confetti

I came across an anecdote online that was too good not to share! It goes like this:

A child in the car: Do you want me to throw the confetti in my pocket?

Mom: No! Why do you have confetti in your pocket?

Child: It's my emergency confetti, I carry it everywhere in case there is good news.

Besides the funny thought of confetti being thrown in the car, and all the clean up that would require, this story begs the question: are we celebrating the small things?

We bring out the confetti for the big occasions – weddings, birthdays, and the like. But what about the smaller victories? Do we bring out the confetti when we reach a project milestone, when a conversation goes well, or when the weather cooperates? Probably not.

Why don’t we celebrate the small things? When did we come to the decision that small things don’t deserve confetti too?

My challenge to you is to throw the confetti! Over the next week, take the time to celebrate the small things – good news, great conversation, whatever it is, celebrate it! There’s no confetti shortage, so let’s not put a limit on what we decide to celebrate.
